It's nearly the end of summer and as we enjoy our last rays of sunshine, we think ahead at the Fall season that is about to set in. And with the Fall season come the baggy jumpers, the loose trousers and coats. It's a welcomed change from the bikinis and short shorts that ensure we keep our diets in check for three long months. The wobbly bits are finally allowed back in the house. Welcome back, muffin tops and love handles. And welcome back to the more than occasional beer and chips on a Friday evening after work. Finally! Welcome back, beloved Hamburger. Oh, how I've missed your soft bun, crispy beef patty and melty cheese. I've missed your finger-licking goodness.

 

Meet ... Meat Liquor, my new best friend this Fall season. For less than £10, I'm back in wobbly-bit heaven and I'm not embarrassed to say it. Yes, the queues are often times longer than a queue at DisneyLand, but it's worth it in the end. The onion rings are crispy, fresh and lemony. The chips taste like an American dream. But above everything else. That. Burger. Tastes. Good.

Birdy - The Voice of an Angel

In case you missed her at the Tabernacle last week, here's a glimpse of what this fair-skinned, honey-voiced, 15 year old musical prodigy sounds like. Her name is Birdy and you have no choice but to fall in love with her and her heavenly voice. You will be amazed how such a little body and shy girl can utter such bold sounds. Check out her mini YouTube interview here:

Born and raised in Southampton by musically-gifted parents, Birdy started playing the piano and singing at age 7. She made her music debut on YouTube and the rest is history. Check out the rest of Birdy's videos here. Like Heaven on Earth

Last Friday, I decided to head down to Richmond for some zesty adventures, where I feasted on the most divine food and did so without an ounce of remorse. Heavens, Good Friday never tasted this good. Believe me, there's something so exciting about indulging oneself in pure gluttony on a day many use for penance and abstinence. I did none of those two things as you can probably tell, but instead tasted the forbidden fruit of Petersham Nurseries, and enjoyed every bite of it, as if it were my last supper.  

The concept is simple. Centered around the English gardening tradition, this cosy and welcoming family-owned haven offers simple, fresh and homegrown cooking, shabby chic fashion for the home, and a great variety of plants and flowers, all in a magical and whimsical setting, at the base of Richmond Hill, just a few miles outside of London. 

And what amazing food. There was fresh home made bread and olive oil, unctuous risotto, fresh John Dory and guinea fowl; creme fraiche ice cream and homemade crumby/chewy fig biscuits; and the most interesting and creative juice recipes I'd ever seen or tasted. 

Petersham Nurseries is kind of like a concept store, but instead of clothing, home decor and cafes, it's a restaurant, teahouse and gardening store, with a section for home decor. It truly is a stunning little slice of paradise. Like heaven on earth.

If you're lucky enough to get a table at the restaurant, you won't regret it; the whole experience is worth the trip. I recommend booking a month in advance if you have a particular date in mind. As the weather gets warmer, availability will be harder and harder to come by!

Marni for H&M - Coming to an H&M Near You

Pinch me. I can't believe it's finally happening, zesties. Are you as ecstatic as I am for the biggest fashion-for-all event of the year?! The Staves - The New Wave I Crave

The Latest Addition to the Bruton Street Fash Pack

No, this is not a joke and this is not a tease. Your heard me. It's happening and it's true. The cult Parisian designer Isabel Marant is coming to town and bringing her delicious garments to Mayfair's finest street to reside at 29 Bruton. While no official opening date has yet been announced, you can be sure that there will be buzz, fashion lights and beautiful people populating the new space and strutting their stuff with her latest collection through the streets of London. Marant will move into a 3,5000-square-foot premise, and will become neighbour to Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney and Diane Von Furstenberg. Yes, dear. I did say the Finest.

Being a hardcore fan myself since 2004, I've never once not seen her catalogues, and never once not bought anything from one season to the next. I've always clung like glue to her ankle boots, floral prints and skin-tight leather trousers. And her knits have a way to make any look seem effortless yet feminine. There's something to be said about laid back French fashion. It's just undeniably cool.

Like Ham & Cheese on Crack

You've probably been to Pret numerous times on your daily breakfast run and thought to yourself, God, it's that same old thing again; "a yoghurt and raspberry jam parfait, please, take away". Off you go, with a grunt and a softly-dying appetite, at the thought of swallowing down yet another tasteless breakfast this week. It's doesn't have to be that way, zesties. Weekday breakfast can be fun again! This morning, I took the adventurous road down the bakery aisle at Pret and bought myself a melty crispy, goldeny brown Ham & Cheese croissant. I did it. Carbs for breakfast, zestie, it's a fact. So sue me.

Water: Drink Responsibly

Are you one of those avid water drinkers? You never leave the house without clutching a water bottle. You always drink between meals and never during. It's two liters of waters per day, not one. Yeah, you know all the rules. You think you're the water expert. There's just one rule you're missing though. By buying and using new water bottles each day, you are going against the basic philosophy of recycling, a philosophy we humans preach but hardly ever exercise; polluting the earth and creating unnecessary waste around us. Yes, okay, I'm guilty, I like my occasional Evian bottle and enjoy the sporadic sip or two when I'm on the go. Sometimes, I even go out of my way to buy my fashionable and yes, delicious, Voss Water. If you haven't yet heard Eliza Doolittle's gleeful, lovable, Spring-in-her-step album, no sweat, she is performing it live this Saturday, 9th of April at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire (London) as part of her global  2011 tour. As Close As It Gets to the French Pharmacy

There is one really huge thing I miss about France these days, aside from, well okay, a lot of things. But lately, what with Springtime being nigh, the sunshine lending us its delicious rays and pollen allergies kicking in, I feel a dire need of a pharmacy run. I generally get my pharma-fix once a year, when visiting family and friends in Paris. I spend about 60 euros (who am I kidding, 100?) on Homeopathics, shampoos and conditionners, body oils, waxing strips, curing creams and gels, and last but not least, my beta-carotene sun capsules (from Oenobiol Solaire). I just find the pharmacy experience that much more pleasant over there. I guess I'm just a bit of a pharma-snob. And judge me all you want, but I'm just not that big of a Boots fan. There is no such thing as an enjoyable Boots run. It's get in and get out. So where to go where Lifestyle Guru Gwyneth shops for her fantastic pharmaceuticals?
